I have the Denon 2807 reciever hooked up to hdmi and am able to PCM 5.1/ 7.1. I heard it gets sent as pcm right?

If you're talking about the PS3 and it sending the advanced codecs, then yes, it sends them via PCM.

edit: ah, just noted it was in the PS3 thread. Sorry about that. Yes, again, sends it PCM-style.

Yes, just like True HD the DTS-MA and HR will be decoded to PCM and sent to the receiver.

In the coming firmware 2.30 update, assuming your player is a PS3, it will internally decode DTS-HD MA into PCM. Your receiver won't know any different; it'll still see the same PCM stream over HDMI that it's always seen, so if that is indeed yourself, you are good to go.

if you have a Onkyo, the display on your receiver will still say Multi Chan In, but, if you push the green triangle(display button) on PS3 controller or remote then in the upper left of the screen it will say DTS MD HD...ohmygawd, I can't wait to see that!!!

I have bought I am legend on blu ray and it only has dolby true hd and regular dolby digital. When I push select it shows dolby 5.1. shouldnt automatically go to the dolby true hd? (dont know where to go to change sound format on i am legend) or say multi channel in on the ps3 when I push select.

It's under Languages.

If you have the Blu-ray remote you can just hit the Audio button to cycle through.

Change your PS3's output to PCM, not bitstream.

When you select TrueHD it will be converted to 5.1 PCM.

ATM, it sounds like you are bitstreaming the regular 5.1 audio track.
