Default PS3/PSP Remote Play with Verizon FIOS router

Anyone have any luck with connecting to remote play via the internet through this router? I can connect with the usb cable but I cannot connect via a wireless connection. Any hints I should know? Quite frustrating as remoter play was one of the main reasons for purchasing a PSP.

I don't know myself.

First off though, there are more than one FiOS router out there, do you know which one you have.

Regardless, I personally can't help you, just thought to toss that question out so to help you out .

I don't know if this helps because i don't have that router but i had problems myself signing on . Basically when you connect it gives you an error and says it was dropped or something ot that sort ( i don't remember exactly) But basically, when it drops it means you are connected. Than you simply connect again BUT this time you connect VIA private network and you choose the PS3 one. Hope this helps, helped for me

Maybe that is what I was doing wrong. Got it to work on my home system. Will test it at work today.

Connection timed out from my work connection. Do I have to create a static IP on the PS3? How do I do it?

No, you don't have to create a static ip, PSN keeps track of that stuff for you really [and your external IP is going to be fairly static unless your router loses power and the internal ip is not so important].

It does time-out alot, fun question, if you can try, connect the PS3 by wired connection to your router.

If I had to guess off-hand, it's prolly a latency issue cropping up. Getting a wired connection cuts one of the major sources of controllable latency you have in your setup.

Hmm, but the 'router' is connected to the FiOS router by wire right?

Or is it bridging wirelessly? Not too sure how the FiOS routers are setup to be honest [and while I could prolly find out in short order if I had IE6 installed still, I do not ].

Anyway subsequent tech bugging steps. Do you have a wireless router at home? If so, can you use internet remote play from home with your PSP?

The router is connected to the FIOS router by a wire.

I can use remote play when I connect in my house. I tried at work and it said the connection timed out.

Are you leaving the PS3 on, or are you depending on the remote power-on functionality? I know I have a pain connecting with remote power-on out of my apartment, but I honestly don't know too well what to say.

If it's working when you use remote play [internet] at home, then there's isn't anything configuration wise on the PS3/home network side that's wrong.
