Yeah, it's possible. You will need a memory card adapter first though. It's about $15.

Sorry. That's if you are trying to transfer your saved data from a PS1 memory card. stockstar has it right though.

you need to create a PS1 memory card, i forget how to but its one of the things under "games" in the xmb.

just assign the memory card the primary save slot and you should be able to save.

This is correct. press and hold the PS3 button. you will see something that says memory cards, and just select the ps1 card to the 1st slot and you should be fine.

You have to create a PS1 memory card first on your hard drive through the XMB. Then you'll have the ability to save

The option to create a memory card is under the games icon, scroll up.

It is too bad that you have to buy a device you will prolly only use once... but that's the way it is. I let everyone I know (who has a PS3) borrow my card reader just to give it some use. I might sell it back since I don't really need it anymore.
If you are interested I might find a way of getting it to you...

Do you have a 60GB, 20GB or 80GB? You first need a PS3 which is Backwards Compatible.

I always found it useless for the 40GB PS3 to have the Ps1 and Ps2 memory card options.

Thats a good idea. I know there is one thing i want on my ps1 memory card and that is my scores for Tony Hawk 1, getting millions on the first level and the school with no cheats. Me and my brother battle scores, used to be alot of fun.

Buy it from Best Buy. Keep the receipt. Go home and use it. Return the next day.

heh, I should have thought of that.

YES. ALL PS3 consoles play PS1 games. In fact, you can download PS1 games now from the PSN Store. PS2 games lack backward compatibility on many models.
So for PS1, you are safe. It is all software emulation so it is easy for them to add it.

I use it to make an "offsite backup" of my virtual PS2 memory card in my PS3 to a real PS2 memory card. I've got lots of work in that memory card and don't want to lose it to a hard drive failure. Plus, if I used the PS3's backup utility to back it up, I would have to back up WAY more stuff than I want.
