Default Two Subs vs. One

I currently own an Onkyo 505, but am looking at getting the 805. I also currently have the Bose Acoustimass 10 (I know...thumbs down...whatever ) Anyways...I was told by the salesperson at Frys the 805 had the ability to hook up two subs. Would this be advised? or would i be sacrificing power by hooking up two subs instead of one? Im just not impressed with the bass coming from the Bose Bass Module, however i dont exactly want to get rid of the speaker system and start all over.
