Default What is better for dual subs?

I have been looking at the Polk Audio PSW505's or the Premier Acoustic PA-120's

I am looking at buying ( 2 ) subs. so what would be better?

I am using the RTi 12, CSi A4, and FXi A6's so I have been wanting to buy the ( 2 ) PSW505's so everything matches. But what would sound better? I really don't want to spend no more than $500 shipped.

Or do you guys think I should use a different brand? But no more than $500 shipped

That's a BIG room I would go with the PA-120's judging by some of the feedback on Polk subs. That room would defiantly call for two subs. I know it's over your budget but if you can save an extra $200 you could get (2) eD A2-300's which would be even better.

This is a good suggestion for a room of that size. Even though the PA-120 is a very good sub, you may need something with a good bit more "oomph" to it to fill that space. The eD subs are worth it for the extra $200 IMO.

I'd agree with both guys here. My room is kind of on the smaller side (11x13) & I just recently picked up my 2nd PA-120 Sub ($223.65 each) so it'd fit into your budget. I Love my Dual PA-120's, don't get me wrong.

But, eD subs are some of the TOP Performers out there from all that I've read. Check out the eD Sub Thread for more info.

So no one likes the PSW505's?

eD A2-300 are nice, but they are custom made, plus they are $350 each + time + Shipping, I'm looking at more like $1000

It's not that people don't like it as much as it'll be a little under whelming in a room that size. You want something ideally with a larger driver or higher SPL, and 2 of them would be ideal. I think the ED suggestions are a good idea, but depending on the budget there are many good options. Are you planing to use them for mostly music or movies?

The eD A2-300 is $350 shipped to your door by FedEx. That would be $700 shipped to your door for duals. You could give eD a call and they might give you a discount if you order two at the same time.

If it's mostly for movies then there are plenty of great options out there. The suggestions people have made so far are all good options. I would suggest the other possibility is getting a single nicer sub now with the budget you have available to you and consider getting a second one down the line. The reason for this is 2 fold. First, in the long run you'll be better off, especially with that huge room of yours. Second, if you get 2 subs and find out you don't like them it's twice the pain in the ass. This way you get to audition the sub before you invest in a second.

Well, what do you suggest? Brand? Size? and were to buy it from? Please.

I really want something with good power, and very deep bass.

Hsu Research STF-2 or VTF models... they have some deals right now, there is eD(elemental Designs), SVS PB10 NSD, Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus

Epik, AV123, Earthquake are others as well.

I just live chatted with them and they said the A2-300 is the only model they do not give a multiple discount because it's already at a low price point

For a room that size you want a large driver to really carry the bass. Your biggest problem is spatial attenuation, which will create a 6db SPL loss per doubling of distance (inverse square law). Because you aren't using it for music there is less strain on the need for speed or perfect reproduction, so going with a higher wattage sub that is ported with a larger driver is ideal. I would suggest getting at LEAST a 12" driver, 15 would work great as well but you're unlikely to find one in your budget. For every doubling of surface area of the driver you see a ~3db increase in SPL. It would be over your budget, but I'd suggest an ED A5s-300 if you were to go with 1 and save for a second later. For a little more SVS also has a good option with their PB12-NSD. Outlaw Audio has the LFM-1 Plus, which price wise is on par with ED. HSU has the VTF-3 MK 2, tho that might be a little too much. All 4 are good options, and there are many others out there as well. The other option as many have mentioned is getting 2 of the A2-300s.

Did you mean to suggest a sealed sub?

Is it better to have a ported box or a sealed box?

and I guess the PSW505's are out of the question, is there something wrong with the 505's? Noboby on here has even said they would work.

I am not stuck on them, just woundering why you guys shy away from the 505's so quickly?

I know it is a big room, but I am not looking to bust the windows out.

Hell, I was happy with the Proficient S10 sub. If I could buy another one of these I would in a heart beat..
