I like PS3 gaming better. I can game on a 70" TV in 7.1 PCM without any real effort, cost, or bulky setup. Plus, you get plenty more games on the PS3 than the PC. Then, there are tons of exclusive games that the PC will never get (Resistance, Motorstorm, GT5, Warhawk, God of War, MGS, Heavenly Sword, Wipeout HD, etc.

Furthermore I rather see a game on my 52" HD screen than on my 19" computer screen. |

I would have to agree.
PC is more precise than PS3 gaming will ever be in terms of crosshair work such as on COD4. Now if they could ever get the keyboard/mouse hookup combo working on more games then that might be something I would look into. |

It's probably cheaper to play games on the PS3 compared to the PC. If the suggested 10 years life cycle of the PS3 is anything to go by, the PS3 is definitely a sound investment. The only advantage of a PC is that you don't have to pay for the games if you don't want to
![]() Having said that though it all depends on what genre you like. Certain genres just doesn't translate well across these platforms... imagining playing DMC with the keyboard or Warcraft 3 with the dual shock ![]() PC also has more how shall I put it... dedicated games which appeals only to a niche market - games like Football Manager, GTR Evolution or anything made by Paradox that comes with a 300 page user manual. I'm also tempted to say that traditionally bugs is less of an issue when it comes to console gaming though recent trends have suggested otherwise. I guess the real big plus of PC gaming is the amount of custom content that will be available through its large modding community. I think the best way is to play all the uber graphic intensive games on your console (Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed, etc) while your PC can fill in nicely for games like Colonizations, The Witcher and Sins of a Solar Empire. |

^^^ yes game prices are a huge drawback.
but not having to worry about tons of things being added together to get a really good gaming pc is also an advantage for consoles . add to that (strangely enough ) almost every game i liked is a console game ( since doom3 and half life 2 made the jump to consoles) . still the one thing needed to make the PS3 the dream machine still didnt happen ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by AM-MAN; 10-26-2008 at 08:28 AM. |

![]() Yes I do realize that but my computer can only output a 3:4 picture so on my TV screen it would look stretched sideways which is not to my taste. Maybe when I get a new computer. |

pc - greater customization options (mods, skins, etc etc), higher potential graphics resolutions, mouse+keyboard control scheme. downsides are you can have more headaches with making games work flawlessly, and almost certainly a smaller screen. also, you get some games that aren't available on ps3, but which are killers, like mass effect 2. ps3 - games are pretty much guaranteed to work. gigantic/bigger screen. console controllers. downsides are that you pretty much always have to pay for the add-on content, you don't get as much access to mods and the like. again, it's just different. civ: revolutions (or whatever it's called) is but a pale shadow of what civ IV is, but there are a lot of games that just wouldn't work as well on a pc/smaller screen (like uncharted 1/2, imo). |
