Having trouble getting interenet to work on PS3

I just moved to another place my wireless internet works just fine on my computer but now I can't get it hooked up to my PS3. Any idead or hints your guys could help me with. At my last place I didn't have to do much at all to hook it up.

Does your PS3 connect to the router or does it just not allow you to browse on the internet?

Is the ps3 hidden in some sort of cabinet? How far away from the router is the ps3?

Have you verified through union labor that there are no gremlins on the premesis?

Hmm.. okay when you ask the ps3 to check signals what do you get?

What part of connecting are you having problems with?

No the PS3 is in plain view, the router is about 2 feet away, but the PS3 is on one side of a wall and the router is on the other side

When I do a conection test I can get past the IP adress but fail when it comes to the Internet connection part. Then I get an error code message saying "An error occured during communication with the server. This is a DNS error (80710102)"

Okay this has actually happened to me before, next to try to troubleshoot,
What is the ip address of the router, the pc and, the ps3.

One time Ive had 2 devices hold the same ip address which caused this.

Obtain the dns information for your router and manually enter it in and see if that helps.

Have you tried to have the ps3 automatically try to grab the settings?

What is your signal strength?

Have you tried pulling the power to the router and waiting 30 seconds replugging in?

you could try changing the signal channels on your router to see if that cuts back on any interference. for all you know one of your neighbors could have 10 wireless things hooked up, and that could interfere with a ps3 signal.

you could try and assign a static ip address; there are step-by-step instructions all over the internet if you just google it.

you could try erasing your old settings and starting all over from scratch as well (don't know if you've tried this yet)
