Default dynamic vs on screen ratio

is there a huge difference here? should i be looking at "on screen" when looking at choices. I currently have a kdf50e2000.. i have read its 3000: or 6000:1

i am currently looking at 4 models

LG Model: 37LG30 12000:1
sony Model: KDL-32M4000 bravia 2500 native 9000 dynamic
sony Model: KDL37L4000 bravia 2000:1
sony Model: KDL-32L4000 bravia 2000:1

the sonys seem lower than comparable samsungs and sharps/ lgs.. im looking at spending about 550-to 750..

Go with the M4000. You won't be disappointed. I own the "N" model, which is an "M" TV, with built in 3.1 on the TV, and two surround speakers.

Looks outstanding after manual calibration.

The "M" has "ACE" 'advanced contrast ratio', and the BE2 'Bravia Engine 2', while the "L" does not include these features.

I agree, the M series is a solid choice

Default Contrast ratio

Pay no attention to any contrast ratio numbers. This is not regulated and means nothing. Your eyes are the best judge of contrast. Don't forget that there are many things that high contrast will negatively affect. Ensure you can still see details in the darkest of darks and that your color is not impaired by the contrast levels. The processing can eliminate some of these issues which makes contrast ratio numbers even less important.

I agree...go with the Sony M series. Great value.
