Exactly the problem it's like kids telling stories and riffing off of stuff they like. No consistency!

Yep. In the Leonard Maltin interviews on the "Faces" VHS sets, George even says the story is really the droids' story, since R2 and/or 3PO are present for the majority of the OT films, and the trilogy really follows them.

Seriously, George in some ways is the equivalent of the 10-year-old on the playground going "no, that's not the rule anymore, this is the rule".
Precisely. That's why the commentaries all stacked up on the Blu-rays are so unintentionally funny. Because they were pulled from so many different sources/times, he is constantly contradicting himself. He says Leia is the key to the story, he says the droids are the key to the story, he says Luke is the key to the story...man that's one big keychain, LOL.

Rules are only as strong as their enforcement, and since he's not around to enforce them anymore...

That's some of the reasons why I love the prequels:

I completely agree with the second guy on the left side.

If you went through all the interviews throughout the years he probably says everyone is key to the story, even the Gonk droid. Love that little fella.

I doubt that many people hate the prequels. They are much better than the originals to me.

I have a genuine, non-ironic love for the gonk droid: just a battery charger with feet.

The prequels have superior writing, acting and a much deeper story. Attack of the Clones was as close to perfect as you can get. The fight between Obi Wan and Jango was just spectacular. My favorite one of all six.

A member who only owns Criterion releases but loves the prequels more than the OT? Well played sir, well played.

Isn't the Gonk the walking trashcan? [searches internet] Oh, you're talking about what its function is in the SW universe? Man, there are some dedicated folks out there.

Do you seriously enjoy every Criterion film you own or do you collect Criterion just because they're Criterion? There is definitely not 187 Criterion films that I would watch more than once. Most of them are not my style of films I actually enjoy.

The Baby is surprised in terror and then is laughing.

But now that you expanded on your views, I'm sure you're joking.
I can't explain it otherwise.
Especially with your taste in films!
Anyway, you sure got me!

Don't go down this road. I asked a similar question once about someone who owned 100+ Twilight Time titles and I got screamed at for days by an angry mob. Yes, some people here collect movies just because they're Criterions or whatever else. Yes we think that's insane. No, they don't care, and get quite mad when you question it. Best to just leave it be.

Or maybe they do enjoy the movies by a certain company.
We aren't sure..

Hell, I was just trying to ask a legitimate question. I was curious by the 187 Criterion flicks is all. I guess I don't need to know that bad if it's going to cause an uproar in the community.
