It's been done with pretty much every franchise that goes beyond 3 at some point, I guess I'm just curious how things would look if it were possible to directly compare the performance of (vague title) vs (scary high number)

If you're referring to the repackage that just came out, i bought it. There's really nothing much to be said about it. It comes in a cardboard slipcase with Vader on it. It now comes in an actual blu ray case instead of the cardboard sleeve-type book that the original came in. The discs have no artwork on them even though they were previously shown with artwork. The movie discs are blue with the roman numerals designating each movie and the bonus discs are marked as such. That's it. I haven't watched them yet as it's the same material that was released previously. Hope that helps.

The only way.....THE ONLY WAY I will buy this highly flawed set is if by some miracle it's going for 30 bucks or under at some point this holiday season. With the new movie coming out I might just be suckered into buying this set with stupid additions (JEDI ROCKS!!!! NO!! NO!!! JURASSIC DEWBACKS!!! CLAYMATION JABBA!!!), not so great extras (wow STAR WARS COMEDY!!!!) and highly flawed (though better than DVD obviously) transfers if the PRICE IS RIGHT.

I'd say it's 'no' to both. There should be no Disney indicia anywhere on the discs or packaging. The US discs should be the same as can be seen here:

It's a Fox release, not Disney, so they're won't be any Disney branding on this set:

I'm assuming the discs labels look identical to the old "Complete Saga" boxed set.

I just checked to be sure. The discs are identical to the previous release. So what you see in that pic is exactly what the discs look like. Only differences is the case, slipcover and booklet which has the same info with new art. So the pics of it shown several pages back is exactly it. Nothing more nothing less. And no, there is no Disney branding on it.

Yeah it does help. I was hoping for new artwork on the discs, but oh well. Thanks.

BTW, I just learned that there is apparently some dragon skeleton on Tatooine in the first movie. WTF? Does anyone know if that is true?
Oh for sure-- I didn't mean to imply that the Episode numbers weren't there. I just meant they weren't emphasized-- nobody referred to the original as "Episode IV" or Empire as "Episode V" etc.

Then when the prequels came out the promotional material had way more emphasis on the Episode number

Honestly, I still don't. I still call them Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars, Empire, and Return of the Jedi.

Well, sometimes I do call Attack "Attack of the Corny Dialog."

Well, if you call the new movie "Episode VII" it implies the prequels actually count.

And we can't have that, can we?

They emphasized the episode numbers in the prequels to make it clear they were prequels. I doubt they do the same thing in the new sequels.
