Lol... My take on the robots words "she's list the will to live" was that she was already dying and could have survived through sheer willpower. Like all good heroes... They fight to live, even in their death bead. And I know the Star Wars universe has ridiculous technology and could and should have eliminated child birth problems but you never know.

So yeah, she died during child birth, which is a logical thing to happen considering the intense choke hold that anakin put on her. And the fact that she lost the will to live makes her death just that much more emotional. And also compounds anakins sufferin and makes his transformation to the monster Vader more plausible.

Argumentum ad ignorantium, eh? Rest assured that there is, in fact, quite a bit of on-screen evidence for an alternative interpretation - it just wasn't spoon-fed to you in that scene, leading to the inevitable tantrum. But it's nice to know that your abiding faith in your own infallibility rules out all other options.

Don't make the mistake of acting as if Star Wars is the real world and thus by extension subject to the same standards of "believability". This is essentially a pathetic attempt to handwave away the PT via the usual played-out talking points.

That you can't believe the people in question even exist speaks volumes. Some have even admitted it, on other sites. You'd be better off arguing that they don't matter because they are too few in number, or something.

I'm skeptical of something I'm hearing on the internet from somebody who heard it somewhere on the internet.

I can see how that might make me seem like quite the cynic.

Nah, I think I'm going to stick with this cynic thing.

It just feels right.

Don't you know? Everyone who dislikes something is a "hater" following the other sheep, but everyone who likes something is a beacon for independent thought. That's how we know all those Transformers movies really are excellent.

This very assumption...how do you know what I'm 'cool with?' I said I'm fine with people who don't like the prequels and fine with those who do as long as they can articulate what they feel and still be civil about it. You called a dude a liar because it didn't sync with your opinion. Own it.

Sorry for the OT.

I called a dude a liar because he made unsubstantiated claims that the internet somehow converted several people he knows against the PT, while at the same time implying that no one could possibly dislike said films on their own initiative.

His argument is essentially the equivalent of a 7-year-old saying that we have to believe something to be true because he claims his best friend's cousin's mom's podiatrist's grandson said so. As such pardon me for my lack of belief on that cool story, bro.

I hope someday Disney releases an ultimate collectors set that includes the original theatrical cut, the 1997 cut, the DVD cut, and the Blu-ray cut, all remastered and anamorphic, and in UHD. Bundled with digital codes.

I can dream, can't I?

You can dream, but anamorphic isn't a thing anymore with home video. I'd be happy with the original theatrical cuts and new special editions which replace all the effects from the original movies just for shits and giggles ... they should leave Jabba '97 back in 1997. He looked like a 2 minute pre-viz render.

See, I think what you're calling an implication on his part is an inference on yours. Everybody is allowed to like what they like. I like a lot of 'bad' movies and like the prequels for what they are with their many problems and that doesn't mean I'm incapable of critical thought which is what I understood you to imply. But that may be an inference on my part. High five, homey.

Some of those cuts are unnecessary IMHO and this is coming from probably one of the biggest Star Wars nuts on the planet. I would be perfectly happy with the original theatrical cuts and the 2004 DVD cuts only. I don't care for the additions in the 2011 BD release such as the Obi-Wan's Krayt dragon call alteration, R2's rocks, and Vader's "No. No!!!". I imagine most fans feel the same way. As far as the 1997 cuts go there's really no need for them either. The 2004 DVD cuts are exactly the same except with updated CGI for the bits that were added in the 1997 cuts.

The 2004 cut replaces Shaw as Anakin at the end of Jedi, he's in the 1997 cut. That alone is enough to say keep the 1997 cut and throw out the 2004 cut.

I disagree as Shaw is included in the original theatrical cut already.

What does that have to do with preferring one Special Edition over another? What I'm saying is, if it's a contest between the 1997 SE or the 2004 SE, I'll pick the one that doesn't replace Shaw.
