Okay, I see what you mean now. It looks like the powers that be are sticking with the official order even though there are problems with it.

Yes, that's what I meant.

J.W. Rinzler's book on the making of the film makes for a fascinating read. The problems of filming the fight over the Sarlaac pit, for example, and the later realisation that they could have made life a lot easier for themselves by filming the scene on a set rather than going to Arizona to do it!

Like who? Off the top of my head, I can't recall any so-called constraints put on him during the making of the first three films other than the limitations of the technology at the time.

As an aside, it must be really easy for the makers of the new films, because they're not pushing the current limitations of technology in any way.

1, 2, Clone Wars, 3, Rebels, Rogue One, 4, 5, 6, & 7.

Not sure if the Han Solo movie will fit in well eventually. The Clone Wars tie in well to Episodes 2 and 3. And Rebels ties in well to Clone Wars and hopefully Episode 4 by the time it is done.
Blimey. You're going to have to drink a lot of Red Bull to keep you awake through that mammoth marathon.

Well, they might have trouble getting him since he's been such a success since 1980, his genius unbounded by Lucas' meddling in HIS stories.

What do you mean? The Dark Crystal and Return to Oz are infinitely better than those retarded prequels.

Wow, Lucas defenders still exist? Jk
As for me, it's Despecialized or Die, an official LF release. And don't give me that "destroyed the negative making the Special editions" because it's nonsense, that not how it would work, and if they did do that there are a mess of fanboys who'll want words with them in the afterlife

The title escapes me at the moment but I'm certain it was an unauthorised account of the making of the STAR WARS trilogy.A hardback book, (perhaps also available as a paperback) with a black star field on the front cover. The book has a colour middle spread featuring behind-the-scenes images-including Dr Evazan and Ponda Baba-with his arm cut off.The book was published sometime in the mid-to-late 90's.

Perhaps somebody here could identify the book?

Edit: I just remembered the title of the book: EMPIRE BUILDING:The Remarkable Real Life Story of STAR WARS by Garry Jenkins

I like the de-specialized, but I am assuming original film negative is the way to go.

Does the Silver screen version have all the same extras (Commentary-mono...etc)?

You mean the work of Jim Henson, Walter Murch and their teams?

Was George Lucas supposed to resurrect Jim Henson for the prequels? I guess him no longer being with us and not asking his corpse what he thought is his fault too.

I am glad that that the Yoda puppet was replaced with CGI for Episode I because it looked horrible.

The Yoda puppet looked good in one place, right at the end.

He's a producer, not a director. Why is it that Lucas worshippers don't like Gary Kurtz? He produced what are considered by far the best Star Wars films. Do you feel that acknowledging him somewhat lessens Lucas' "genius" or something?

Who cares? You must think Transformers is a masterpiece, since it made a fortune.
