He did, he was running aloingside Jorah... then they ran into the giants in the darkness. Maybe since he's a wolf, he saw it far enough of him to be like nah man, I'll wait on this one, and ran off.
EDIT: Here I gifed it for you [Show spoiler] Quote:

Rhaegal is alive, you can see him in the preview of the next episode. Ghost is alive as well. Woooo!
The episode was kind of bittersweet to me. It was good but I thought the way the Night King was defeated could have been better with the same outcome (Arya's a sneaky bastard!). All he did in the entire series was walk from one place to another, raise his arms and now he's gone lol. Kind of lame. We never saw him using the other White Walkers either. All secondary characters are gone. Lyanna Mormont was the real badass of this episode. No special training whatsoever and she fought til her last breath. Bravo! Can't wait for next episodes. Cersei must fall! |

I'm sad to see such mixed feelings on this episode, with more negative than positive on this particular forum. I expected more deaths of prominent characters but the deaths that did happen were pretty impactful. The biggest grape I have is that we saw a lot of characters getting swarmed and somehow living too many times but it didn't ruin the episode for me. Arya killing the Night King was a cool moment and I have no problem with it. I'm glad the zombies are out of the way now so we can focus on the remaining humans.
I personally didn't have a problem with the picture quality, I think they were purposefully making it hard to see at the beginning of the battle but whenever a character I was supposed to know showed up I could see them clearly. I think a big part of why I could see better was that I watched it after the fact on demand as opposed to watching the live feed which usually has a lot more compression. Either way this will look loads better when I get my hands on the UHD Box Set but it didn't bother me at all tonight. |

I feel numb right now.
That was one of the most intense 85 minutes I’ve ever had watching a television show or a movie...EVER. A surprisingly small major character body count, given the expectations. The lighting was awful in spots...couldn’t see shite. If it was intended to be that way, then whatever...but it wasn’t good. I thought Brienne, Jaime and Tormund were poorly used. Their characters had relatively little impact on the episode. ...sure that will change for the attack on Kings Landing. Watching Dany [Show spoiler] was a gut punch.![]() Last edited by Ray Jackson; 04-29-2019 at 06:24 AM. |

I like Arya's scene, but it felt too easy passing by the dead, even if you are a faceless. Either way, still a badass scene and it had me cheering loudly. I think the real MVPs are Lyanna, Ser Jorah, and Beric. People online are talking about how Beric was the prince promised for saving Arya and protecting her to fulfill her duty. Pretty epic stuff. Makes me appreciate this episode. |

I actually think the same, I would rate the episode 6.5/10 though, but the guy is right and has the right to speak his mind. |

For years people told me that picture quality wasn't that important and now everyone I work with is complaining about this episode being incomprehensible and poorly shot when in reality they're just dealing with a shot at night, action heavy episode and poor quality streams filled with banding, macroblocking and other compression artifacts. I know because I dealt with it myself this morning, using the catch up for the channel who have the rights to air GoT in the UK. The stream was awful. I think it's only supposed to be 720p anyway but I reckon a DVD would have done a better job.

It does seem like a wiser battle strategy would’ve been to dig fire trenches every 100 yards, a few hundred yards out from the walls. Then let Jon and Dany hit the whites with dragon fire and kill as many of them as possible before having to sacrifice any soldiers.
Then, when that had run it’s course, lite the trenches. Even if the whites overran one fire trench, there would still be several others to go through. ...anything but a full on frontal assault to start things off. You need to avoid sustaining casualties for as long as possible, knowing that every dead soldier will soon become a new soldier in the Army of the Dead. |

Decent episode. Going into it I was concerned about the darkness. I have a decent tv so thankfully it wasn’t too bad for me. Though I would have preferred if it all took place during the daytime, a shame not to see it all in its full glory. An hour and a half of battle could have been a very boring affair, so I was glad it wasn’t just that. The way they built up the tension was great.
I’m more than ok with how the NK met his end. As cool as he was, he was a non-character, a big one on one showdown would have been an empty exercise, as he didn’t earned it imo. Wrong. That was never going to happen. The endgame will involve characters who have long standing and complex relationships with each other, which the audience is invested in. Not some character-less one trick pony ice-terminator we aren’t emotionally invested in. Last edited by Josep5349; 04-29-2019 at 10:44 AM. |
