I've always felt that GoT was going to have a polarizing finish. Episode 3 was the start of it. I think episodes 4-6 are likely to be polarizing as well.
shows you how reliable RT is as season 7's plotting was the goofiest of the entire series and yet it ranks higher than a solid battle episode.

I hardly use RT so don't know how it works but it seems strange that Season 8 episode 1 gets a score of 92% with an average rating of 7.92 out of 10 but episode 3 only gets 75% with an average score of 8.97 out of 10.

That's the real problem. The Dothraki were too uncivilized to properly calibrate their TV's and were unable to see who they were fighting.

The scene actually did bother me because no-one sends cavalry riding into darkness. The flaming swords meant the dead could see the Dothraki, but all the Dothraki could see was the other Dothraki swords.

Kind of like Theon charging at the Night King with a spear from 30 yards away.

When has something like that ever worked in anything...any show, any film...ever?

...but it was dramatic.

True I watched the long night on my 4K projector and it was absolutely brilliant the scale was crazy for tv had no problems seeing anything either.

The idea of watching this episode on a tablet just shook me lol

The 1st 3 episodes should be condensed into one long movie remove credits between them

Keep in mind there may be a lot more to all of this than we have currently been shown.

Everyone keeps wondering how Arya was able to get to where she got without being detected (besides her stealth). I have to go back and watch, but people are now saying that when Jon stands in front of the evil dragon, his lips read as "Go Go" perhaps yelling at Arya while distracting the dragon.

Theon's charge while seemingly fruitless, may have been designed to distract the Wight Walkers from her presence as well. His vantage point would have been in the direction from which she came.

The initial charge of the Dothraki was very weak in hindsight. I understand "why" the writers did it, but I can't believe that with all of Jorah's experience, he would have led a charge into complete darkness.

Crazy hype always brings in more opinions imo then there’s the usual crowd who are ready to bash before its even aired.

It’s not a perfect episode no but no way should it be lowest rated that’s just absurd

He was exhausted, after doing battle with the hordes of undead. He knew he didn't stand much of a chance at that point, but still, he had to try.

A 9.0 is a low rating?

The lowest rated episode of the series is “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” and it has an 8.1

People posting made up shit because they don’t like something is hilarious.

EDIT: I see PS-RagE already beat me to it. Still, such an incorrect post that it needs to be told twice.

It sure is. Some people called Arya a “Mary Sue” despite spending her entire 8-Season arc training, fighting and killing with some of the best killers in Westeros and Essos. Completely ridiculous. She even pulls that same move in Season 7 when sparring with Brienne. Even in this episode, she has a lengthy sequence showing off her stealth skills.

Did anyone notice half of Viserion's face exposed? Was that damage from fighting in the air with Jon's Dragon?

I believe it was both damage just frmo being dead at the frozen lake, and yes from the fighting.

If you watch the GoT Revealed 40 minute making of thing on youtube, they explain how cool it was to have the fire from Vis' coming out the side of his mouth since there were holes in there.

You've been watching season 8 but, haven't seen season 7? Hard to say what they will do but, i'm sure they will try to milk the series, judging by all the other packaging that's already out there.

Thank you. I have since corrected the post including an article stating it as the second lowest rating.

Also, never once said I disliked/hated the episode. It was very generic and by the numbers for Game of Thrones’ standards. The only thing I hated was the misfire of the episodes cinematography in darkness issues.
