I see your logic in wanting to make all your sources look there best but a receiver with cheap up-conversion is just that, CHEAP. If you do get a receiver with upconversion don't exspect the image to look much better. Save your money, if you really want your sources to look there best get a DVDO Edge.

Now I needs some help.. I checked out this DVDO EDGE. It seems like want I need for my system. So I called my local distributor. He tells me the DVDO EDGE is great for exactly what I want. He then goes on to tell me there is a new product comming out that is even better from EMOTIVA.

This is suppose to process audio & video. I don't know why I need to process the audio too?? So I'm mixed up. I think EMOTIVA UMC-1 will take any audio source & upscale it to 7.1
