Well I press "OK" and then it seems to be doing it's thing for about a minute. After that the system reboots and then it gives me the same message over and over. Is my hard drive toast?

This is strange, normally you don't see problems with the HD. Maybe a connection came loose. Have you moved your PS3 around lately?

I would go to the PSU forum and post the question there.
