I totally agree. When Yoda was talking to Mace Windu about which Sith was killed, and the camera focused on Papatine, right then and there I knew he was the puppet master. Plus when Palpatine talks to Anikan at the end of the movie about watching his progress over the years, hint hint.

Well there's all that, and the fact that he was portrayed by the same actor in both the original trilogy and the prequels.

Well, he played him in Return of the Jedi. There was no Emperor in A New Hope, and he was played by a monkey in The Empire Strikes Back.

That guy who plays the Emperor was perfect for the role. The way he seduces Anakin in Epidode III, at the opera, was classic, subtle, evilness.

Actually, it was a woman with a chimp's eyes superimposed over hers.

As far as knowing who the Emperor was in TPM, I only knew because I had read the novelization of ANH and they refered to him as Emperor Palpatine. So it was obvious to me the moment they introduced him! I was all "WHOA! He started out as a senator?!" His rise to power is my favorite thing about the prequels!

What I find interesting is that there is some ground that they shouldn't duplicate in The Clone Wars series.

For example -- The Grievous reveal that he actually has four arms! Did they reveal that in the TV series yet -- I forget! It was supposed to be a "surprise" in the films, right?

I'm just kidding and speculating, really. All I know from the mythos is what has been in the films.
Dude check out the Darth Bane books. It gives a good explanation to the rule of 2. I get the sense that Sith can only really survive by hiding their true identities like Dooku and Darth Sidious did. One good Sith to me is way more powerful than a Jedi master. If the Sith are not in hiding I think they would be constantly hunted by the Jedi and wouldn’t really have any time to their real dirty work. Also I think Vader was always a Sith apprentice.

This is why I wish they would make a series set during the times of Darth Bane. This is the start for what's to come with regards to all six movies.

Yes, he was. The Emperor was the Sith Master and Vader was the Sith Apprentice. They made that clear back in the original trilogy. Vader was always plotting to overthrow Palpatine and take his place as Sith Master. He tried to recruit Luke as his own apprentice should that happen. We all know what happened next.

In way yes, but no.
[Show spoiler]Palpatine
allowed Anakin's training with The Jedi to commence so he'd be stronger with The Force. Plus, it gave him inside info on The Order he wouldn't have been able to obtain otherwise.

The Order 66 was implanted in the Clone army, and a part of Sidious' master plan, once he took over the Senate. No need for Jedi anymore, time for Vader to assume his position as a Sith Apprentice.

It was a reveal in Episode III, but fans would have already seen him appear in a different form in the animated Clone Wars using multiple lightsabers. If I recall, he held them in his feet. They changed this for Episode III, however, and that is the form that he has in the new The Clone Wars show. Anyway, Grievous only uses this technique in the film against Obi-wan (recall that he only meets Anakin face-to-face for the first time at the BEGINNING of Episode III), and Obi-wan doesn't seem to be too surprised by it if I recall, although I don't think he ever has even fought Obi-wan on the show yet either. It's not as though this is a continuity error, and it's also basically assumed that people watching The Clone Wars will have at least seen the prequel trilogy, if not all six films.

Isn't there some rumor about a live action TV series set in the time of the Old Republic?

He know's it's the way of the Sith but it's clear that what he was looking for was for Luke killing Anakin and becoming his new apprentice.

Eventually he would. But it's up to Palps to stay one step ahead of his apprentice. There is no leisure time for a Sith Lord.
