Yea, I have seen some of those deleted scenes from the OT, and that version would also be a one time view for me. I guess that awesome 'Blade Runner' set has just spoiled me. - LOL -

However if he released the 'original unaltered versions' with the correct color timing, I would be perfectly happy with that, as I also prefer those too. Though the 'Adywan's STAR WARS fan version' has been getting my attention lately regarding these movies, as those versions are the only 'SEs' that interest me.

That would be a nice option in the box set, and also a huge amount of special features, similar to what was included with the LotR EE's. I would watch all of them.

They just need to release and uber duber special edition that has every single version of the the movies. Simple as that. I could understand them doing a basic set of just certain versions and then do a super set that has EVERYTHING.

I, for one, do not want to see Luke and Han kiss each other.

Pardon me for not reading 76 pages but, has it been made official that Star Wars is coming to Blu-Ray? If so, what's the release date?

With the exception of the original (nonSE) version, the Adywan cut is the ONLY other version of Star Wars I will watch as it combines the best elements of the SE w/ the care and attention that should have been given by George himself when the director decided to "revisit" his original trilogy.

And from what I've seen/read, I'm VERY much looking forward to Adywan's ESB Revisited next year!

Doesn't belong there. He also put in a lot of effects shots which didn't really look great, and didn't add anything to the story. Kinda like GL, you know?

I'm still trying to get his "purist edition" on DVD.
None of that is as bad as Greedo shooting first or the lame deleted Jabba scene.

I do admit the Imperial March caught me off guard but I grew to accept it because I felt it added to the big intro/reveal of the Death Star.

To each their own and all that jazz

October 2011 is not official. No official announcements has been made, Steve Sansweet talked about a blu-ray plan, that's it. When a thread is in this section, we always presume that an official announcement been made and there is a release date. But every time I check this thread, nothing but a disappointment.

Why is this thread not in the Wish List section? I don't know.

Yup. Don't forget, Blu isn't just about video quality.... it's one of the reasons why I love my GOJIRA blu ray... not great video quality, but the sound is a lot better than previous DVD releases.... and this is from 1954.

Well, his intention was to make the originals fit more closely to the prequels, along with fixing a lot of other stuff (color correction, lightsabers, etc.)

1 and 2 are on Spike HD (Phantom Menace is on NOW!). Hope that Phantom Menace looks better on Blu. 3, 4, 5, and 6 are on tomorrow EDIT 3 4 5 and 6 are on tonight late. Tomorrow all will run together, except for the Clone Wars Movie, show, and Genndy Miniseries.

Boba was there to foreshadow his role in Empire the same way introducing Jabba ties into Jedi. Adding them to Episode IV makes it more of a trilogy film than the standalone that was originally shot.

True, and well put.

I don't get all this hatred for the Jabba scene. I know many say it's just a repeat of the Greedo, but if it had been in the original cut of the film would you be saying this? No you wouldn't, because t's the original. The truth is GL always wanted that scene in there so Episodes IV and VI connected with one another better.
