Don't bother me I am the Hollywood Elite. I never figured JC for a narcissist. So many of them in the world today, actors, directors, the president....
It was already posted on this very page, you didn't look too hard, in the post PeterTHX quoted.

The guy is an autograph hunter, looking for guys like JC to sign memorabillia that he turns around to profit from on eBay, he is in no way, shape or form a fan, this much should be blatantly obvious.

If you want to use something to point out narcissism, you picked the WRONG example. In this case JC was bang on the money.

I don't spend my life on blu-ray.com to read every single post. I went through several pages. I was just going by the video I saw. It never said anything about him being an autograph hunter. If he is I will agree with JC.

since we have to wait so long, wouldn't they go back & make some cgi better? like jabba in ep4 & the water effects on ep2. kinda lost its touch. they keep everything (all the cgi models etc) so it shouldn't be too hard?

My guess is that's all a part of it & is already going on. I remember reading an interview with GL where he stated they were currently (at that time) working on a new AotC sequence that introduces Grevous in that episode rather than Sith.

Ahem, Ridley Scott didn't 'make' Blade Runner look like it was filmed in HD.

That would be cool! They should also work on the AT-AT's in EPV so they look more like the AT-TE's in Clones and less like toys. While they are at it, throw some ground troops in the Hoth battle too.

Watched the OT over the weekend and despite how I may feel about some of the changes these movies are still escapist entertainment on the highest order. I'm sure Lucas has more changes in store for us. I REALLY hope among those is getting the light sabres correct (finally) and redoing the super stardestroyer crash in ROTJ. That looks cheesy to the point its distracting.

Looking fwd. to this set and wish it wasn't still a yr. away.

Neugh. This is why I normally don't enter Star Wars threads.

I am so familiar with the scenes and lines, that it seems almost like I am watching sacred material when I view these films, especially "A New Hope" - which (for me) will always be the real "Star Wars".

I really don't see what's wrong with the water effects in ep 2, it looks fine to me. And the CGI Jabba was already fixed on the DVD's, again, he looks fine as he is now, I don't really see how they could improve it.

Did not hear that. Pretty cool. Just hope they don't muck the film and just shove him in (Despite what people say, I enjoyed that film).

They could do a few minor tweaks to make it look more like Return of the Jedi's Jabba puppet but, yeah, it does look pretty good. I haven't seen Attack of the Clones in a while, but I don't remember any of the effects being wonky. I do know they're replacing the Yoda puppet in Phantom Menace with the digital model from Revenge of the Sith. Other than that, any change Lucas does for Blu-Ray is speculative until they hit shelves.

I'm all for the Yoda puppet being replaced, but Jabba looks fine now in Episode IV, the original SE version was very primitive CGI by today's standards, but I don't see how they can improve it now. You have to remember also that they've got to work within the limitations of the original footage. And bear in mind, that Jabba has had another 4 years or so of over indulgence to get to the state of the bloated puppet we see in Jedi - but for me, all the puppets and masks are far less expressive than the CGI versions of characters, with the possible exception of Yoda.

Puppet Yoda is very expressive, but he tends to move like Fozzie Bear (in the original trilogy).

I might be one of 10 people on the planet who doesn't have it out for George Lucas. LOL. I, like most other people, have grown up on the Original Trilogy, and my first real theater experience with them were the Special Editions. My reaction to the changes amounted to something like "Oh, that's interesting!", and nothing more. Never did I think that the entire SW community would explode into anger at the time.

As for the prequels. Yeah, they're flawed movies. TPM more than the others, but they're still enjoyable films IMO. I still love Revenge Of The Sith to this day.

As for the Blu-Rays, I cannot wait. I'm interested to see how they look in HD, along with what/if any alterations Lucas made to the Saga.

I would only say Lucas went to far if he ended up taking the original trilogy, and replaced all the puppets and minuatures with CGI.

Further pain it is going to be for you then!

Most people agree that it's for the best, as the Yoda in TPM didn't look right, and the CG version is much better anyhow.

I am sure Lucas won't replace all the effects in the OT, simply because it isn't necessary, as many of them look great to this day, but I pray he'll make some much needed changes in both the OT, and to a much lesser extent the PT (TPM most of all)

I love all the movies, and cannot wait for the BD box set! I really, really, really, really hope it will deliver in every conceivable way!

May the force be with us!
