that was the one thing i really didn't like. when you watch Empire, you get the feeling that Yoda is this really powerful creature who is one with the force. at that point, you don't need him to go into these major lightsaber battles like in Clones or Sith. and if he was drawn into it, you would expect to see him totally spent afterwards and not just back to normal. to each their own.

I looked around and found this online from #126 of Insider. I linked to it from the Insider's Twitter page. It looks like the so-called blu-ray preview is nothing more than a magazine version of the press release.

http://lockerz.com/s/105499313

The print is very tiny but if you take a look at the full-sized print from the press release at the official site and try to compare it:

http://www.starwars.com/movies/saga/bluraymay4/

The wording under each disc description looks to be the exact same. Unless it continues after those two pages of the magazine, it looks like nothing new will be revealed. We may indeed have to wait until Comic-Con for any new info on this set.

I don't subscribe to Insider myself but someone in a post above mine mentioned the cover being changed for #126. If all they're including in the issue is what I linked to above, I can see why they would take that blurb about the set off the cover. The link also showed the cover of #127, the Han issue, due out at almost the same time Comic-Con is going on, and it had news about a preview of the BD set.

I called it. There won't be any news until San Diego Comic Con.

I was never keen on the jumping ant style of fighting with Yoda Vs. Dooku.
I would really like to see the extended version back in the movie. We know it was filmed, because there are toys and pictures that give Dooku two lightsabers (Obi-wan's borrowed green blade and his own). Supposedly Yoda also had to chop down a couple Super Battle Droids, too IIRC.

I wouldn't mind a bit of tweaking to the ANH fight they can stick a stuntman in Vader's suit and CGI Alec Guiness's face on a double like they did with Christopher Lee. If it was done sypathetically it would add a bit more excitement to quite a static fight. Obi-Wan did come across as a bit feeble against Vader.
Right. Exactly what I'm thinking. Enhancements to what's already there, not a complete replacement.

It's still working fine for me. I'm not sure what to tell you to try. Try refreshing the page if you haven't already and try clearing out your browser: cookies, temporary internet files, etc.

I'm running W7 and IE9.

Basically, it's a shot of two pages in the new issue, under the heading "Launchpad". There are small pictures of the box art for the three sets that are set around the text. The text of the 'article' is just the heading for each disc and its contents in the description below the heading. The descriptions match the press release, the official site listing I linked to above, the product listing on Amazon, etc.

I thought this was already known to have happened? I heard about this "tweak" a year ago.

I say leave the OT alone and just reshoot the entire OT so it will match in every aspect down to the bad acting.....PT Fanboys will get what they want an effects laden trilogy to match what they love. Then Lucas can release the UOT to all us old folks as some sort of "Golden Classics" edition.

Yea, I agree with Cowboy on this as BOTH trilogies almost seem to be from totally different franchises as the examples stated above, not to mention the 70's hair styles. Plus a whole OT reboot would give them a chance to fix RotJs story and script too which has become almost impossible for me to watch anymore.

Now regarding possible extras, I think that thowing in 'The Story of Star Wars' which came out in the late seventies would pretty cool as I must have played that LP over 100 times and would gladly buy a CD version of it if it was still available.

Thanks goes to EricJ for posting this in the other Star Wars thread-

Does anybody remember these???

Yep had that same record in 1977/78 (PALYED THE SNOT OUT OF IT) and the hard cover book by the same name. I remember in the book it had pictures of the biggs scene and Luke with the Binocs looking up at the space battle. Also had B&W 8x10 of Luke wearing that sailor hat standing by his landspeeder. I remember thinking ehy where were these parts in the movie? Had all the wonderbread and 5 sets of SW Cards...all the rags etc...hey where did my Star Wars go?

Mods are splitting/moving out some posts that 'get off topic.' I.E. anything that might start a conversation of PT vs. OT or Lucas 'this and that.' So, just keep your remarks about the upcoming blus and they won't move out your posts.

On a side note, interesting comment from Spielberg in the Jaws news (Ha ha!). Does anyone think it is likely that they add in any deleted scenes to the prequel trilogy? Kinda curious as some of the stuff would just be extensions like the Yoda/Dooku fight that was previously mentioned.

I certainly hope Yoda/Dooku's fight has been extended, Anakin/Dooku's fight as well, particularly the part where Anakin was using two lightsabers, and also the duels and fights in TPM, both in the desert, and the final end showdown. During the end credits of one of the deleted scene documentary on TPM DVD, there was a REALLY cool scene with the three guys jumping up.
I want that in the BD release.

I doubt it will happen, but it would be cool if the footage from the original Star Tours Ride were to be included as an extra, similar to how the Back to the Future Ride was included in the 2009 individual DVD release of Part 1 and on the Blu-Ray Trilogy set.

The PT & OT are STAR WARS, so that's not off topic. As others have said several times, the Blu-rays aren't out yet, so there's not much to discuss unless they just want us to complain about the cover art.
So basically we're only allowed to discuss Blu-Ray specs like picture quality, audio and bonus features, but actually talking about the movies themselves is considered off-topic?

Then maybe I should just close this thread if there is nothing to talk about !
