Well not that I'm saying this is the case but BDs are 7.78 bits . Couldn't the format of the pro "Masters" be of 10 bits or higher, so some pushing could be done, if that's the case, and change the timing before decimating to 7.78 bits. If the "masters" are "locked" with the "changes".

They were alterations made by Lucas that were rushed into production...hence SOME mistakes.

LOL that sucks! I can see it, but I'm viewing from the same IP that I set the site up with, so I guess that's why...

If anyone checks it out after the review period is over, any feedback would be appreciated. If you've heard of (or own) something that isn't listed, I would like to know!

Btw this is a more direct translation:

Quote:
During the Digital Entertainment Group Europe event, held at the Disney offices in England last night of July 14th, 20th Century Fox showed to the media present clips of about 30 seconds duration from the Blu-ray editions of the Star wars movies.

Not much was seen and due to the exclusivity, taking pictures or videos from the screen was also not allowed, but at least it served to get a first impression about the quality of picture and sound that you'll be able to enjoy. The first two clips were from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (with Yoda and Clone soldiers flying over the battlefield during the Battle of Geonosis), and the one of Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Anakin Skywalker fighting at the end of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Obviously, since both movies were filmed and digitally stored, they looked absolutely perfect - making the most of the 1080p resolution of Blu-ray. They have never looked so good before, not even in HD TV broadcasts or in theaters themselves.

But the surprise arrived with the clip from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was the opening sequence of the special edition of the film (when the Star Destroyer catches Princess Leia's ship), the moment when C-3PO shows for the first time in 1080 is impressive. The sparkles from the golden parts of his body with so much detail and shine made you think that the film was made this year instead of 34 years ago. Little else was seen and even though the material displayed was so little, everything suggests that Lucasfilm has done an impressive job with the high definition transfer.

Remember that on September 14 for the first time the complete saga of Star Wars on Blu-ray will be available and that will be the moment to confirm if first impressions are true. The pre-orders have been going on with great success for months.

Honestly, Lucasfilm isn't going to win in this situation with the way criticism is leveled at almost every release of a film on Blu Ray...

They're in a no win situation.

I wouldn't scrutinize a still from a digital camera about the picture quality of this release. Sheesh!
I predict total internet meltdown once the set gets in the hands of someone early.

You have seen nothing yet.

You´re right. And wait for the new changes made on episodes 4 to 6. Some people won´t be happy about them.

Actually that would not be true. The ones who would care about preserving the originals are already not getting what they want, hence could really care less what else will change. Anyone else would welcome any change from Lucas. May be some grey areas in there but pretty much sums it up IMO.

Does anyone want to humor someone who is lazy and doesn't feel like weeding through 837 pages of this thread?

I hate the cover art on the full saga set. Do you miss out on any features if you buy the two trilogies separately?

Thanks so much guys.

Is it just me or are posts being removed/disappearing? I thought I saw the horrifying possibility that ugly puppet Yoda is still in TPM

Changes to 1-3 could upset people too. Which would be pretty hilarious actually after literally years of 'hey, they're his movies, we've got nothing to say about it'

THAT would be tragic irony...lol Okay, nevermind the tragic part.

I am hoping that big convention this weekend brings some news about the blu rays!

No thats one of the things we know changed, as Lucas even allowed clips of the new CG yoda from TPM to be used in Star Wars in Concert.

Anyone check out the new SW BD app? I guess it's only available for iPad today, then on August 2 it will be released in the US for iPods, iTouches, and iPhones, too.

I'll check it out tonight if I can wrestle my wife's iPad away from her.

I know this has been beaten to death, but if I pre-order from Amazon with 2-day shipping, am I guaranteed to get it on release day (Friday 9/16 in the US)?
