LOL, you are right to be dubious. He/she ripped it word for word from here:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?p=20840784

...and they conveniently haven't got a source either. Looks like it could be fan made, but why for the life of me someone would go to those lengths is beyond me? 5 minutes of fame and all that. It doesn't appear to be showing up anywhere official, and lets face it, this is big news on the release if it has been leaked.

Those quoted do not add up to the 45 minutes + of deleted scenes from each trilogy surely?

On a personal note, really not bothered about the inclusion of the original deleted scenes from the PT, they were all worth watching once, but that was about it. Deleted scenes are exactly that, a novelty. I would much rather have new scenes to watch (albeit once) than trawl through ones that have already been released that were frankly abominations (the Naboo submarine waterfall scene anyone?)

I can understand a lot of the complaints from completists, but honestly, when was the last time you put your DVD in to watch the deleted scenes since the day you first bought them? Having them in one place would be preferable I guess, but who is going to repeatedly watch them.

The key thing with any release, be that Blu ray or DVD, is the film and the quality of it. The special features are just nuggets to be enjoyed then never returned to again. Don't forget, my opinion

Heck, the PT animators used the puppet footage from "Empire" as reference material to begin with, so replacing it would defeat the overall point.
Sure, the puppet was the beginning, but what they can do now is WAY better than the old immobile rubber muppet.

I really hope they at least replaced Yoda's head in the OT, just for the sake of getting to see the internet blow up.

Anyway, it's still somewhat early to get a true grasp of what it will look like in blu-ray, but if the trailers/clips really are anything to go by then some of us understandably shouldn't get our hopes up too much.
This.

I would really like to see a source before I get excited, and disappointed, due to the lack of the DVD special feauters.

I greatly disapprove as well. I don't ever want to watch anything on DVD again, so putting ALL the special features on a BD would be easy and make the completists amongst us happy.

I honestly can't understand it, and find it very lame.

On a lighter note: I can't believe how close we are to actually having this set in our hands!

Question: Is anyone JUST getting the PT???

I personally wouldn't know a reason why anyone would, but I am curious.
Please, state your reasoning behind this move.

...and the haters would decree they are being ripped off paying for stuff they already own. Face it, Lucasfilm could never win whatever way they went. Look at the LOTR scandal when they dared to include DVD's in the set. The set is entirely complete but people went beserk at the cheek of daring to include DVD's. You just can't win. Although I am loathe to say it, be happy with what we are getting, some you win, some you lose.

Source then? I am not saying either way if it is real or not. Read the post, you have left an air of ambiguity. THere are some sad souls out there that would spend the time to create something like this just for a bit of adulation and notoriety. Are you one of them LOL? Your silence on the matter is only making things worse and now it appears you have posted it on two forums to get the recognition..........

I don't think you will end up with two set of translation, well I do hope not for your sake, the France translation are horrible and silly. The only worry I do have for you is the original might well be the Fance translation but I wish it won't be so. My friend like watching things more in French as is English is a bit lacking and if I recall the 2004 set he as was not the France translation so I think it should be the same this time around as well.

My silence? I have nothing to prove and, personally, I don't care if you believe me or not. I've been on these (and other boards) forever. I've never posted false information.

I got it from a spec sheet from another country. And, no, I'm not posting it. I'm not breaking a confidence.

Regardless...we'll see if it's correct or incorrect in less than a month.

Fair enough, that is all that you needed to say. Shame, that was the one bit of the set I though might be its redeeming feature, but seems sadly lacking.

Also, haven't you broken confidence by posting it on two forums? Just a thought.

I posted it here, AVS, HDD, OT.com and The Force.net. Anything else is other people re-posting.

To me, the deleted scenes are the best part about this boxed set. Even if they suck, I'll be happy just to see them all.

This list is what I've been dying for!

Seriously, thank you for taking the chance to post this. I am sorry if it seemed I was taking a shot at you, but was conscious this didn't just become another Ken Kraly email saga when the usual suspects arrive this afternoon and burn you at the stake. I never doubt the validity of information until proven otherwise, unfortunately most people on internet forums do not feel the same way as you are probably seeing on all of the other ones.

I'm with you, I look forward to seeing these (particularly the boarding ramp fight between Maul and Gonn), but as per my previous post, a nice novelty with little replay value. My hopes are still pinned on unrivalled quality for the actual films making this a worthwhile purchase. And where are the trailers in HD? That I wouldn't have minded being doubled up with the DVD's, trailers are always worthy of repeat viewing.

I have to agree about the trailers. I don't care that the supplements from the DVDs didn't make it. But, for all films, I think trailers are required for a complete package.

Trailers, no matter the film, bring a sense of nostalgia.

The lack of the deleted scenes from the prequel DVDs is a pretty big oversight as many were actually quite good as far as deleted scenes go. It would've been great if they were included in HD.

That's why do not throw away your DVDs. Not all extras from the DVDs are included in the Blu-rays.

Depends on the bitrates used. Example:

- 4:15:00 @ 6 Mbps -> ~11.48 GB

- 2:42:00 @ 24 Mbps -> ~29.16 GB

for a total of ~40.64 GB out of 50.05.

If a BD-50 could really hold 9 hours of good quality 1080p, they could have released both cuts of each LOTR on a single disc, i.e. 3 discs for 6 very long movies…

I ordered my 2004 DVD set from Amazon.com, and it most definitely features the French translation (complete with 6PO and all)…

Isn't there already a similar conversation in the final cut of the film? What's the deleted conversation about?

Just had another thought

Perhaps we aren't getting any trailers on the Blu (although I hope we do hidden somewhere) because of changes tBC.

For example, watch the entire TPM teaser and watch puppet yoda in all his glory for the final 15 or so seconds. This I guess would grate with the film, but has nostalgia value. As we know however, Uncle George does not!
