Boone, I truly hope you are right. But that scream in Empire was hilarious too. Or the unbelievably stupid Jedi Rocks scene. I remember sitting in the theater in slack-jawed amazement when those scenes happened. I could. not. believe. it.

Anyone that is retarded enough to do that to Empire and Jedi is retarded enough to do anything.

It's so far back in the mix they might as well have been whispering it. And they still haven't taken those damn X-wing sound effects from the Falcon vs TIE battle as they escape the death Star. This was an error created in 1997 and never sorted. Yeh, the dialogue is clearer and seems to mix together between alternate audio takes, unlike the 2004 mix and the surround swapping for the music seems to have been fixed in the rear channels also but sometimes the sound effects just seem to drown everything out.

The 1080p picture quality however, colour problems aside, is very good. Detail is very high with a noticeable amount of fine grain. So at least they didn't "Predatorise" these movies
Oh , and only that 1 shot that features lightsabers has been altered throughout the whole movie. Obi-Wan still gets his purple lightsabre in some shots and the sabre still goes out and the sabre aboard the falcon alternates between green and blue. Instead of adding damn rocks in front of R2, maybe they should have spent the time to fix these issues?
Why is it everytime Lucasfilm fixes one thing they **** up about a million other things. I swear its like a bunch of chimps are running that place.

It's becoming more evident that Lucas is disappointed or embarrassed with the first movie trilogy. Now for instance he's reducing the level of John Williams' score in the opening scene? That score is what really gave the vintage 1977 film a "classic, space opera" feeling to it.

George Lucas = Michael Jackson
where as,
Original Trilogy = plastic surgery.

I couldn't wait. I wanted to see the first half hour of Jedi...

Although the 97' dance number is still quite lame, and the CG does not hold up in HD, the quality to everything else was awesome. Although it doesn't do the puppets and prosthetics in the scene any favors. It now gives off a Muppet show-turned-evil vibe all the more. It looked quite awesome.

Also, the new zoom/pan of Jabbas door gelled pretty well with the before and after scenes. It wasn't intrusive which the poor additions tend to be.

Yeah, must be. That's why you rip the old carpet up and start with new carpet. All these problems could have been avoided if they would have started with a new transfer. If they didn't want to fix the problems they created with the 2004 transfer they should have scrapped it.

One of the changes introduced with the SE of ESb is what annoys me the most out of any of the changes done to the films I can think of. When R2 gets spit out of the sea creature on Dagobah, Luke originally said "You're lucky you don't taste very good." It was changed to "You're lucky you got out of there."

Was there ever any reason given for that particular change?

I'd like to piggy back on this and pose the same question about Han's change in RotJ: from "It's alright, trust me." to "It's alright, I can see a lot better." Lando already to told him to aim just a little higher... meaning that Han still couldn't see.

Not if the carpet belongs to a crazy person who demands that they keep the carpet. All the while screaming "FIX IT FIX IT". As you beat out the lumps, mold and pollen filly your nose and eyes, decades of mildue and water-damaged particles of carpet overwhelm you as you blindly strike at anything that feels "Lumpy".

This could all be happening right now, this is Star Wars.

I imagine Lucasfilm is going to have to put out a statement for this (referring to the leaked audio/video). Otherwise it is going to be an absolute sh*@show. The marketing of this has already been floundered from the packaging to the different versions of shots in certain trailers and stills.

Huh meaning, what does that have anything to do with "losing it?" There isn't the slightest correlation.

This is off topic, and Mods please forgive me. Andy Serkis isn't a hack, and the Hobbit isn't his first rodeo as an Assistant or Second Unit Director. I'm pretty sure he has helped in thia area on other projects. You have no evidence to prove he has screwed up anything in any film so what are you basing this claim on? Divine intuition?
