Could you please post some screenshots of TPM?? That would be SO frickin nice of you

Have you watched episode 2 and 3 yet?
Generally, dimly lit scenes had softer details on live elements. CGI didn't mix too well in some of these scenes. Bright lit scenes were more often than not, superb, and the CGI was much less obvious, if at all, here. I'm not a reviewer though, so take my opinion for what it is.

I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, it's probably 10 years since I last saw The Phantom Menace, so to be honest, I couldn't and didn't pay attention to or look for differences.

AQ was superb. The Pod Race scene on loud volume, wow, what an insanely agressive soundtrack. Spectacular low end.

I've got good news for you. Atleast on the North European set, all extras are subitled in English. I can't guarantee the same applies for the US set, but it won't surprise me if the disc contents are identical.

All commentaries (two for each movie) are subtitled in English as well as the other languages that have subtitles in the movie.

Interestingly, the commentaries actually each have two different English subtitle tracks, one track that subtitles the speech, and one track that identifies the various participants. Kind of odd they couldn't just combine the two (as the names are displayed on top of the screen) but that's how it is.

All three bonus discs have English subtitles.

Hope that helps!
Awesome, especially on the AQ!! Can't wait to experience this myself!

Good news about the subtitles too, hopefully it'll be the same on North American discs.

Look forward for the rest of your report.

I think he mentioned that he don't have the means to do that, maybe he don't own a BD-ROM drive.

People talks a lot about color timing but was Hoth always blue? Or is it completely white in the OUT?

I do have a BD-ROM (several actually), but TMT & PowerDVD that I use, isn't able to take screenshots of BDs. I guess I could always install whatever software necessary, but I haven't really bothered with it before, it's pretty far down on my priority list.

I think Hoth was always white in the UOT. It only had a slight blue-ish tint during the night scenes or when it got dark outside. But I'm not 100% sure about that.

did the 2006 "Theatrical" DVD (A New Hope) contain Threepio's line "the tractor beam is coupled with the main reactor at _____ locations. A power loss at one locations will allow the ship to leave." (typed from memory, so may not be 100% )

It doesn't even look blue to me on the 2004 DVDs.

The only noticeably blue shot on Hoth is when Luke sees Ben's ghost. All other shots look white.

Calibrated display ftw!

Snow in Middle Earth is aqua, apparently, so I guess anything is possible.

No, that line is missing. "Close the blast doors." is missing, too.

I know haha. The "Episode IV: A New Hope" actually always bothered me. I'm so glad they digitally erased that from the 2006 DVDs.

In ESB 2006 "UOT" DVD, Threepio's added line, "There's nowhere to go!", is there after "This is suicide!". Also, there's a bit of music added in the final scene of ESB, that, according to the list of changes on Wikipedia, was never in the theatrical release, proving that, along with the fact that they weren't presented in anamorphic widescreen, these 2006 releases were indeed not UOT cuts of the trilogy. LFL has never released them on home video and I'm pretty sure they never will. Time to accept it, and either get the NOOOO-rays or don't.

I've been so jealous over the last few weeks seeing Americans comment on the $89.99 release price, while it remained $99.99 in Canada.

Well now Best Buy Canada has dropped the price to $79.99 until September 18th... so SUCK IT!

To be fair the phantom menace always seemed a little on the soft side on dvd to me.

The price on Amazon hasn't moved a bit, $89.99 since day one. Only 2 weeks to go, hopefully it'll drop to $74.99 by release day.
