There was no new release for the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars or Empire, though, was there?

I predict any new releases will be remainders of this same set repackaged.

Im finding the same problem. A store in NY wanted $240 bucks overnight shipping to arrived last Sat. I said ummmm no. I figured someone in LA would sell it early.

What's worse for me is how super-hyped I am after reading that review and I can't watch till Monday nite. My wife's mom, who I love dearly, is in town this weekend, but I'll be thinking longingly of this set, I suspect!

Getting new content is nice, but it really shouldn't have to be at the expense of past content.

This is just so WRONG on so many levels. Classic example of someone looking for a dark lining in a silver cloud.

First of all, there's just a ridiculous amount of Star Wars-related content available out there. It's wholly unrealistic to include everything in a single release. I think we all agree on that much, at least. Realistically speaking, there has to be a limit set on exactly how many minutes worth of special features are to be included.

Once they've set that limit, they ask themselves a question: Do they split their allocated space between old and new stuff? Or do they fill it only with unreleased stuff, and hope the buyers will have held on to their DVDs? I'm pretty sure 99.999% of rational people will opt for the latter. Especially since most of us already own the DVDs anyway.

Probably more cartoons. There was mention of doing one Clone Wars style taking place after Jedi.

I'd love a post-quel trilogy, but I don't think George has it in him.

Fantastic review Casey!

The picture quality on TPM and AotC sounds like it'll be dissapointing. I'll judge them for my self.

I am truly excited to see the PQ on the rest of the films though based on your review. And I am more than excited about the sound. The only negative I have heard is that Vaders entrance music is dampened in ANH.

I can't wait for friday now even more than ever! As always, thanks again for the informative and well written review(s).

Stormtroopers are not clones, that's why they are incompetent compared to the clonetroopers.

Depends on where you buy it from. Some places have these as offered as a sales inducement; reports seem to be that it's the same image in the film cell everywhere in the world (from the duel on Mustafa from RotS).

Will UK work on US BluRay players and TV?

In this case, yeah. US is Region A, and UK Region B, but the Star Wars releases in both places are region-free.

You dont have Pal or NTSC issues with BluRays like DVDs right?

Not when they're full 1080P, like these releases are. (The Lord of the Rings releases, for instance, yes you would.)

Ok, so the one difference I can find on the 2 sets is one piece of Art. All the art on the disc-pages in the US boxsets are found in the booklet on the EU set, but the US booklet has an additional image which I liked alot.



I am basing this on the unboxing video of the UK set, and CRS's pics.

I was under the impression that some were, but the Empire had become so powerful by this time that others joined up as well. Take that with a grain of salt as I think that came from Lucas retroactively, but seems plausible to me.

Thanks. Of course, the most interesting stuff is in SD. I imagine the classic documentaries were on film, not videotape, so why aren't they in HD?

The reason some people aren't posting here anymore is that the discussion and debate is over. The discs are out and everyone is making his own conclusions. Based on your posts people who find flaws in the PQ aren't welcome here so they've probably gone to other forums. If they post here they'll be attacked...

Just my two cents. People should be enjoying the discs instead of arguing - that ship has sailed. Nobody "won" any argument or debate. It simply ceased because the release date is upon us and that anxiety is going away.

You might want to try that humble pie yourself. Let me know how it is and I might take a slice.

The next wave of heated posts will be those who have player issues and no FW update is available.
