Some people may buy this again (even without the OOT) if Lucas makes more changes for the 3D versions, and corrects the remaining color timing and lightsaber fx issues, and releases those on BD.

Of course, I am hoping for the OOT at some point, but I would also like to see his updated versions handled properly in regards to the issues that still remain with them.
I agree 100% Dynamo..

For anyone that has these in hand, are there forced trailers for non-star wars movies on the discs? Any other promotional content? Is the THX media director on all discs?

This! Each store and Amazon must have so many tons of copies of these, they will still have lots even for Christmas and even if they are going to make a killing in sales in the next few days. One thing you never have to worry with Star Wars, it's quantity

These "great" reviews crack me up. "This will be the last time you have to pay for these movies", unless you would want

The real movies.
No DNR.
No no......nooooooooooo.
No Teal tint on AoTC.
No "frozen grain" from Lowry.
No screwed up lightsabers.

Yes it sounds like this is the definitive set....

Will be going to wal-mart at midnight to pick it up for 80$. Can't wait. I've already seen the 1-6 on BDR, just waiting for the Bonus Discs.

Must've been. I remember reading the article on SW.com and the guy said the movies are so clear now that they're noticing new things, like the Walker stick. I thought I remember them saying they removed it, but maybe not.

Can't wait to see Empire, the wait is killing me!

They know this release is probably the biggest release ever on Blu Ray and it WILL sell great, so I am sure they printed up a couple extra copies.

The only problem I could see is price point. Not that it isn't a good deal, but some people just don't have $80 to throw down right now. High priced box sets usually do well in total $ales, not so good in units moved.

I am getting pretty excited.

That's pretty much what you don't need to buy again until the original trilogy gets greenlit means.

Yeah, you guys should totally stick to upscaled non-anamorphic 480 and lossy legacy audio while the rest of us enjoy it in 1080p with lossless audio.

Shipping soon. w00t!

Just got done talking to amazon, they said my shipment is delayed until next week because they don't have any to ship out.

So much for preordering day 1.

I can't do it! No matter how bad these are screwed up they are still better than my dvd's or my dvr'd versions. I know it is sad, but I have NO CHOICE! I can gripe about the mistakes, but in the end I am a huge fan.

Plus, the music in DTS HDMA will just be incredible. Even though I have seen some mini reviews that said they screwed that up also.

Let's address these.

1) The real movies are whatever Lucas desires them to be as he has the rights.
2) TPM is the only one with DNR and it's mild and extremely selective.
3) I don't care for it, but it doesn't ruin the scene.
4) AOTC is the worst of the six so I can live with this.
5) What frozen grain?
6) The lightsabers look darn good IMHO. Better than the 2004 DVDs that's for sure.

Just watched the blu-ray last night. While it looked and sounded INCREDIBLE, it was really, truly aweful. Here are some of the reasons why i loathe it:

1) Ian McDiarmid - his acting is cringe-inducing in this. Totally hamming it up 100% of the time. When he attacks the Jedi that come to arrest him, his faces are some of the goofiest shit i've ever seen an actor of his caliber make. Plus, why did NONE of the Jedi even put up a fight except for Mace? They literally just stood there as Palpy SLOWLY stabs and slices them up. And the whole scene between him and Mace Windu, oh christ, just terrible. Also, the mix of the CGI jumping and flipping around combined with his barely being able to lift the lightsaber in his close-ups, it just looks terrible.

2) The whole 'Order 66' thing - first of all, come up with something more original. Actually, it's this whole "i gotta make everything that relates to the Sith SOUND really evil" thing that Lucas went with. Darth "SIDIOUS," General "GREIVOUS," it just shows you how lazy of a writer Lucas was with the whole PT. Why not add Captain "EVILDUDE" or Darth "TREACHEROUS?" Anyway, the fact that the clone army just automagically turn on all the Jedi they've been fighting a war with for years, again, just lazy, sloppy writing.

3) The whole ending. I was honestly embarassed to be in the theater when i saw it the first time. Just. Plain. Aweful. Basically everything after Anakin gets roasted is laugh out loud funny in it's attempt at melodrama. Vader's whole assembly and the "NOOOOOOO!!!!" scene, the birth of luke and leia, and subsequent non-sensical death of amidala. I can't not laugh at how bad this stuff is.

4) It still looks like a video game. A very pretty, detailed video game.

5) Hayden's performance is god-aweful-terrible. Any time i read somebody stating "Hayden's performace is Oscar-worthy in ROTS," i just face-palm automatically. It's like a reflex now. There's no one in the entire PT or OT that is a worse actor than this guy. When he's talking to Obi-wan, he still sounds like a 5 year old. When he's screaming at Padme or Obi on the lava planet, i mean, it's just laughable. "YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY POWER!!!" Come on, you can't possibly tell me you think this is anything but another sophomoric performance from a talent-less actor.

6) Anakin's turn to the dark side happens instantly. He goes from telling Mace that Palpy's the sith lord, to killing Mace and bowing to Palpy. All out of belief that Palpy can keep Padme from dying? Here's an idea, how 'bout you just don't force choke your pregnant wife? And don't kill all those little Jedi kids? And don't go to the dark side? Then i think your wife woulda had a chance and made it through the delivery. Again, Lucas's major plot devices make no sense at all.

7) ALL of the lightsaber battles look completely over-choreographed dance moves. It looks like they're just twirling the things around like batons. There's no emotion, you can tell they're just trying to hit their marks and not hit each other. Also, some of the scenes just look super awkward. Like Obi walking up the steps in that huge chamber they're keeping Palpy in Greivous's ship. He's seriously blocking the laser blasts by just keeping his saber straight up, and just walks up to the droid and slices it. You can tell there was no thought in any of the scenes when they were actually shooting them, and every real decision George made as a director was made in post.

8) The last battle between Obi and Anakin is too damn long. It's an exercise in tedium. And that whole "It's over, i have the high ground" thing didn't make any sense either. It was just out of nowhere and weird, lazy writing, yet again.

Honestly i could go on and on, but the nonsense that is ROTS is not the great film to some of us that it is to others. I didn't want to just say it sucks, but rather list some of the reasons why i was so glad i didn't buy the complete saga.

I figured. This translates to: "We ran out of copies after taking care of all of our precious Prime members." Prime really pisses me off. I have also kept telling everyone that the complete saga box is going to be sold out everywhere for the first several days.
