Wow ! I had to watch A New Hope first. I am extremely pleased with the picture and sound quality. I have one gripe. There is a red line on the right side of the picture that stays there. It's not the tv or my ps3 cause I tested it. I think somebody at skywalker ranch goofed. It seems to go away around the time he cleans the droids.

I haven't spent hundreds of pages defending and rationalizing everything John Goodman has ever done. That's the big difference. His avatar has nothing to do with it.

The question was "how could technology possibly be an excuse for Vader not saying NOOO originally?"

Your righteous indignation is appreciated and might sway a lesser man, but it doesn't work as a deflector shield to seasoned veterans of internet debates.

I'm gonna surmise that you don't have an explanation for how technology could be to blame for this particular change.

originally, it was posted on Wikipedia that Han no longer says "you could use a good kiss"

I couldn't believe it, so I watched my copy, sure enough, he said it. So I changed the article. It was even there in the subtitles.

I have been reading the thread since the BD release, and most people said that they liked it after seeing the whole movie.
That's a fact, and it once again proves that the outcry was way over the top, and uncalled for. It's a very fitting change IMO.

I use a cheap Altec Lansing PC speaker setup and it's there for me.

Maybe you have your TV's sound settings to something they can't handle. Switch it to stereo.

I DID say: technology was not to blame! Lucas probably had the idea while reviewing the movies for the blu-ray release! And why not!? He has the right to do so! Like I said: He is not in court!

I showed my mom the Noooo scene and she started cracking up....loudly. "man! Why did Lucas do that?"

All I could do was shake my head and shrug.

It is barely visable and I never noticed it whilst watching. Yours is the first I've heard of a red line though.

Somebody needs to create a poll on the changes of Darth Vader's "NO-NO" and Obi-Wan's "Dragon Attack".

I was thinking instead of Vader saying No, he should have said "nuh-uh-uh" while shaking his finger at the Emperor and then says "Palpee, you have a lotta splainin to do".
