Doesnt appear to be a placeholder.

It has a defined price, a release date and a link to pre-order it.

If it was not in the works to become available, this is a BIG screw up.

Perhaps one of our uk members wants to bite and try to pre-order?

We'll see if he gets a notice that it was a mixup?

Now, to the best of my knowledge, neither "Trading Places" nor "Coming to America" were ever offered on Blu-ray (or HD DVD, for that matter) in the UK like they were in the US. I do know that "Anchorman" was an HD DVD exclusive here. Just to make sure, I double-checked, and these titles are Paramount releases in the UK as well, so this isn't like "Beowulf", which is a Warner release (and therefore includes region-free Blu-ray) in the UK.

So, that leaves us with a bit of a mystery: Is Paramount (or at least Paramount UK) planning to release Blu-ray again? Frankly, IMO the more likely explanation is that Amazon just mislabeled a couple pre-orders, but with all the rumors floating around, it's just too juicy to pass up. Regardless, I added "Anchorman" to my "Beowulf" pre-order to see what happens. Here's to hoping...
trading places and coming to america was offered on blu-ray by paramount here in the states you get it on ebay for 60 bucks

here is my experience with amazon. I used to pre-order polar express on blu from amazon UK... it appeared that after the stated release date, I hadn't received it. (before that, amazon even took down the price and pre-order link just few days after my pre-order). It is listed as "this item is no longer available". I cancelled my order, then import from USA.

Few weeks later, I was browsing at local HMV and was shocked to find some copy of Polar Express on blu.....

Just to wrap up the thread, try these links now and see what you get.

Fear not, Paramount will be announcing Blu-ray support soon. They just won't be announcing it through Amazon.

PS: No, the Germans haven't updated their Amazon site yet but I'm sure they'll get round to it.

Yeah, it seems that amazon has "corrected" the links which now point to the DUD releases . Oh well, so it was a mistake after all.
But, have faith! In time, the high def version of the movies will be up and the upconverted down.
