It'd be great if they would do some event or something leading up to Episode VII. Show a cleaned up original cut (retouch the effects, but leave out the useless additions), rake in the cash from die hard fans, and get them more excited for a new movie. While a new Star Wars will definitely be a big money maker regardless, I'm sure older fans would be more willing to give VII a chance if Disney were to make an effort to appeal to them. Earn the respect of the jaded prequel haters and that income can only rise.
I don't mind the Useless additions all that much (Luke's "NOOOO" in Empire and Vader's "NOOOOOOOO" in Jedi ruin 2 scenes.)
But they need to at least fix the SFX Continuity Errors.
Much like what the Adywan Team is doing.
All-In-All, That's the ONLY version of ANH I'll ever watch. I can't wait to have it in HD soon.

The prequels have a much deeper story, also way more complex in every regard, and the VFX are only there to support the story, not the other way around.

Apparently, according to the article, that Disney only plans on concentrating on new Star Wars films. I guess "The Phantom Menace" is the only Star Wars film that will be released to 3D.
You must have missed all of the posts just a few above yours (even those on the same page as yours) that were already talking about that.

And as been pointed out several times, Lucasfilm has said that the 3D releases are postponed and that they'll announce future plans at a later date. I wouldn't be surprised if they get cancelled completely, but as of right now, officially they're just postponed.

Telling a fan to do this is like telling an atheist to read the Bible; it just ain't gonna happen because it would be a waste of time for a person who doesn't see things the same as you. Tell me, do you guys put so much stock in what other reviewers say about YOUR favorite films? Or do you only like what everybody else does?

Wasn't the 3D TPM something of a box office disappointment?

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney has shelved (or scrapped, whichever it turns out to be) further 3D releases specifically so it can refurbish the brand without having to address historical baggage, and put Lucas' reputation for running the property into the ground without further momentum into abeyance.

Get some new runs on the board, as 'twere.

Agreed

I even enjoy their reviews of movies that I like. I'm not going to be offended or upset by someone having a laugh at the lesser points of various films I enjoy.

Comparing Star Wars prequels to the Bible? Makes sense.

If a review is funny (and RLM's are always hilarious), then I don't care if it makes fun of movies I like. Seems like you guys watching it would help tone down the hyperbole of how supposedly amazing Eps I - III are.

RLM makes quite legitimate points about the prequels. Whether or not you agree with those points is clearly up for debate.

What? I wasn't comparing them to the Bible, I was making a point that it would be a waste of time for either party. However, I've found that the internet likes to pick out what a person's saying and focus on what they weren't saying at all, so whatever. For the record, funny is a point of view, and I don't find the guy all that hilarious. It ain't even because he's all over the prequels. Hell, he could be trashing "Twilight" or "Harry Potter" and I still wouldn't watch over an hour of that crap.

That's the thing, it's a very tired and old debate. I can't believe he keeps popping up when you have fans who obviously don't care what he says. You guys seem to love to rally behind this man, but quite frankly there's gotta be a point where you haveta understand that RLM isn't going to change anybody's mind. If you already hated the prequels, then he speaks for you. If you enjoyed the prequels, then he doesn't. Simple as that.

First of all, I was originally talking to Bluyoda. After he said he wasn't interested (to put it mildly), I was gonna let the subject drop until you started directing your, to be frank, unwanted opinions towards me. I don't care whether you like RLM or not and you seem to be treating people who do as this hivemind.

Also, it's definitely not as simple as that. I'm sure there has been at least one person who's watched those prequel reviews and changed their opinion.

Edit: Thank you for informing me that funny is a point of view. I mean, I just thought humor was objective.

I concur @Monkey Boy.

Also, how is that bickering in any way related to the BD release of the SW set?

It has no place here for the 1 billionth time.

I can think for myself, and I love the prequels. Are they perfect? No, but neither is the OT, or any other film for that matter, so leave it be.

I do enjoy laughing about myself, or things I like. I even like finding goofs, and so on, but I don't need that imbecile to tell me.
His voice alone, intentional or not, makes me wanna strangle him, and I am a pacifist, so there you go.

Just let it go, and go on about your business. Cheers

Ermm, it takes two (at least) to bicker.

And who ever decreed that only one point of view was acceptable on a thread?

This thread isn't about how good or bad the movies are, but about the BD edition.

I bet most of those who come in there to state how horrible the prequels and the SE are, don't even have the BDs, so they have no point posting in here at all to begin with.

They are just trolling.

I love my SW set, and besides TPM, the quality is terrific!

Those VHS screenshots a few pages back, along with my own recent comparison to the Blu using the unaltered original versions of the OT that were included as bonus discs with the DVD releases, really did make something stand out to me.... As a kid, watching those movies on TV or VHS with lower picture quality on a smaller screen, is really what makes the effects work and makes it feel like you really are watching something real. A part of me almost wants to just watch them like that forever. Almost.
