george lucas updated the original movies to how he originally wanted to make them but he ran out of money or special effects weren't advanced enough, i forget.

forget the theatrical releases. the true movies are the new ones on blu ray. they are updated by lucas and look great. watch 4,5,6,1,2,3.

Some SW fans are the biggest drama queens in the universe, and they would complain no matter what.
It's highly unlikely that you would be bothered by anything, unless it turns out you don't like SW that is.

You can either watch them from 1-6, or 4-6 and 1-3.

Have a great time.
lol you got that right. they never stop complaining.

i was happy at the end of ROTS. anyway, i'm not sure why movies need happy endings but thats just my opinion

i agree with that. the movies are fun to talk about but people take them far to seriously.

I suspect Lucas would have included young versions of all 3 ghosts if not for the challenge that poses re: establishing the never-designed young Yoda. So what you end up with all this reverse-engineering of the story and the rules to support young Anakin and old Obi Wan and Yoda.
i would have loved to see a young Yoda with a mullet and a michael jackson jacket on with all those zippers.

Huh? Best movie to who? Star Wars is the best in my opinion with TESB a very close second.

That's how I have 'em too. Star Wars at the top, Empire second. For me it then goes Sith third, Jedi fourth, Phantom Menace fifth and Clones dead ****ing last.

The reason I have Star Wars st the Top is that its the only one that can stand on its own. If they never made a single one after it would still be in the top 15 domestic films of all time lists.

Again, agreed. It works entirely as a standalone film, whereas every one of the others (even the intended 'start' of the series) is dependent on having seen at least one of the prior films.

Uh... Empire IS the best movie in the franchise. A New Hope might be your favorite, but from a critical and production standpoint, Empire is the best of them.

However, obviously it is the best to me since I just said such in my post.

Umm yeah certain lists would disagree with you. But glad it's your favorite because it is a great film and many on this board feel the same way about it. Its just too bad that it relies on ROTJ to complete it's story and the PT pretty much kills one of the biggest reveals in cinematic history.

This is my ranking as well, except Empire is first.

Agreed! Amazing that after seeing each of these movies so many times, they can still give me goose bumps. Nothing better out there, IMO.

I think John Williams' work on the prequels was every bit as good, if not better than the originals (Ep. II editing choices aside).

John Williams is a HUGE part of the reason for me that any of the films are so effective- OT included. The scores for the Prequels are all wonderful.
