You think that's why he had such influence over Anakin? During the murdering of Dookoo, and Mace Windu, Anakin seemed to lose all Jedi sense of principle and Palpatine was present both times.

I don't know in what novel it was, but I don't like the idea of Jacen, the twin son of Han Solo, becoming Darth Caedus, a Sith Lord.

It was during the Legacy of the Force series and I hated it as well, but got to admit what they were willing to do in these novels. I also didn't like the things he did as a Sith Lord and ultimately what happens to him in the end.

Did he say how we are supposed to pick up on Sidious creating Anakin? Did he force-hpypnotize the mom and bang her or do it strictly through the force?
This is a great thread...

What I find interesting is that there is some ground that they shouldn't duplicate in The Clone Wars series.

For example -- The Grievous reveal that he actually has four arms! Did they reveal that in the TV series yet -- I forget! It was supposed to be a "surprise" in the films, right?

It was a reveal in Episode III, but fans would have already seen him appear in a different form in the animated Clone Wars using multiple lightsabers. If I recall, he held them in his feet. They changed this for Episode III, however, and that is the form that he has in the new The Clone Wars show. Anyway, Grievous only uses this technique in the film against Obi-wan (recall that he only meets Anakin face-to-face for the first time at the BEGINNING of Episode III), and Obi-wan doesn't seem to be too surprised by it if I recall, although I don't think he ever has even fought Obi-wan on the show yet either. It's not as though this is a continuity error, and it's also basically assumed that people watching The Clone Wars will have at least seen the prequel trilogy, if not all six films.

The movies don't assume anything else is canon but the movies. Books take movies as canon, but the movies supercede everything else on the canon scale. Even The Clone Wars is canon before all extended universe material I think. I think even the previous Clone Wars cartoon from Tartakovsky takes canon precedence over extended universe.

I personally don't worry about any of the book material, due to having read almost none of it and considering many of the ideas to be absurd and undermine the message of the films (Palpatine clones!).

Star Wars The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire are both considered "movie cannon".
