I got 17 of the top 25.
Its great to see Sunshine make it, thats a stellar disc. However, I'm surprised no Kill Bills made the cut, or Pan's Labrinyth, or Fincher's Zodiac.

Besides POTC: COTBP, I had Dead Man's Chest, since I already have the first one on DVD. Is it worth double-dipping?

Totally agree. Every questionable pick was defended with "good PQ/AQ". They're pretty much tech-heads there, but I would have expected some sort of pick on artistic merit. And leaving off Band Of Brothers is a total sin, especially if you are choosing movies based on AQ. It's a 10-hour reference marathon set.

I only have 6 of those 25 listed. There is one or two others I might actualy get but I am not that interested in the rest of them. I am surprise Band Of Bothers wasn't on this list however?

I've got 6 of them.

1. Blackhawk Down
2 Casino Royale (SE)
3 The Dark Knight
4 Live Free or Die Hard
5 The Police: Certifiable
6 Wall-E

Cnet should explain why those Blu are must have.
I don't understand why Some of Blu movie are on the list.

I own 4 of them (The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean)
Well I have Casino Royale but not that version.

Not interested in buying any of the others except Live Free or Die Hard.

I've seen and liked some of the others, but wouldn't buy them.

It is a little thing called opinion.

Though I must say, I was happy to see Tropic Thunder on the list. My favorite film of '08 and it looks and sounds awesome.

Well, I guess he wanted to mention the reference quality, demo-disc worthy Blu-rays, not the one a daily consumer would favor overall. I saw a similar list on IGN, with Sleeping Beauty and The Ultimate Matrix Collection included on the Top 10 list. Why didn't they include those movies? Idiots.

While I don't agree with all of the picks, it's not a horrible list either. I have eight of them and agree with all of them being included:

1.Bolt
2.Casino Royale (CE)
3.The Dark Knight
4.Iron Man
5.Live Free or Die Hard
6.Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
7.Transformers
8.Wall-E
