Default Armageddon Coupon?

Just Wondering if there will be a Armageddon Coupon from Buena Vista.

I want to upgrade mine non-animorphic but not for the prices I have seen.

I'm sure if there is one, Cardman would know, right?

I don't think so. So far all the upgrade coupons I've seen dealt with Disney specific release. Even though Armageddon is released by a company owned by Disney, it isn't a direct Disney release.

Surrogates had a $10 off coupon which is Buena Vista film. I know it wasn't an upgrade, but that gives me a little hope there will be a coupon for Armageddon.

It is true but I point to two factors: A sub par movie and Armageddon is a catalog. Besides Disney catalogs, I don't think there has been any upgrade coupon. Though I could be wrong. If there was, we should have heard about one now.

There was also a coupon for The Proposal, $10 off, which I used.

The Rock had $10 off for previous DVD owners, but you had to send in the Proofs of Purchase, etc.

Im not really into those rebate deals, I dont like the idea of having to cut off the proof of purchase off of my bluray case.

It is the proof of purchase tab, not the receipt for the DVD. You only need a copy of the receipt for the blu-ray.

I was like you guys but you don't have to cut the proof of purchase off the BD, just the DVD.

I bought a bunch of Disney BDs in SteelBook form that I already had on DVD (RATATOUILLE, PIRATES 1-3, MONSTERS INC., etc.).

They all had $8 or $10 off rebates for the *DVD Proof of Purchase*.

Seeing as I already had the BD SteelBooks, I was never going to watch the DVDs again anyways. They would be just sitting in a box in my basement until someday I would sell them in a garage sale for $3 each.

I figured, if I could sell them for $8 or $10 (the DVD copies) I would do so in a heartbeat because that would mean my SteelBook copies would cost me $14 rather than $24.

So I cut the darn things and mailed them in. I got the coupons via email and I went back to Future Shop which gave me a total rebate of $40-50 for all the coupons! That is another one or two SteelBooks.

If someone like FS was going to give you a free SteelBook, would you take it? If FS would give you two free SteelBooks in exchange for cutting your old DVD proof-of-purchases, would you do it? Hell yes!

Best thing is, I still have the DVD copies and can still sell them for $3.00 at that garage sale.

Or....I could probably take the $8-10 rebate, and just buy another used copy of the DVDs at a pawn shop and replace the proof-of-purchase.

The bottom line is, the movies themselves are not worth $8-10 anymore. You could easily take the money and buy another copy.

I kept my receipt for my new BD copies and even though it was four months after purchase, FS gave me my money back!

I think for MONSTERS INC, with the two rebate coupons, I probably paid $4.00 for the SteelBook version.

Do I think that is fair? Of course.

I did purchase full price for the DVD way back when. I am only paying $4.00 to 'upgrade' it to Blu-ray.

I am all for keeping my copies in the best shape possible (I don't loan out my movies). However, I have boxes of DVDs that are now redundant. Who is going to pay me $8-10 per DVD now?

What's the process? If you are looking to get both Tombstone and Armageddon, you can buy both to save $10.

you make a good point. i guess im just lazy to go thru the whole long and painful process and would prolly just 4get about it few months down the line.
