That would be quite awesome, indeed!
Now if they would just release his dvd on BD, I'd be a very happy man!

This thread's gone crazy again.

That is literally insane. And the whole point of it is that it saves the "I am your father" secret for new viewers but it still blows the "there is another Skywalker" secret.

It's fundamentally flawed. Either watch them in chronological order and know that those secrets are going to be revealed or watch them in release order and deal with the fact that doesn't have a happy ending. Those two methods still actually have some degree of logic and sense behind them.
While there's nothing wrong in watching them in either release order or chronological order, I disagree that all other orders are fundamentally flawed. Think of all the flashbacks in "Godfather II" that tell the back story of Vito Corleone. My recommended order is 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. You tell most of the primary story (the OT), then you go back and learn the backstory of Anakin and then you see how it all comes to resolution.

In fact, I can imagine a re-edit of the whole thing told in reverse chronological order - like "Betrayal" or "Memento", although having said that, the PT is so confusing as is, telling that story in reverse chronological order may make it even more incomprehensible then it already is.

Gotta watch the prequels again soon.
Yeah, Star Wars fans have gotten as bad as Trekkies in what they think they are entitled to. No offense to anyone here specifically.

I generally prefer release order (as I do for most things), but I did go once for what you'd either call a Godfather-esque or Tarantino-esque order.

4,1,2,5,3,6

I recall really liking it - especially the way it revealed Leia being Luke's sister. Much more dramatic than finding out in Return of the Jedi. I also liked having the stories cutting back and forth, telling a somewhat parallel story. The only exception being Star Wars coming first instead of Episode I, because it obviously sets up the entire saga better and is definitely the "A" story, while the prequels are more of the "B" side of the tale.

Having Episode II before TESB probably gives away the game a little bit with regard to the Vader revelation (Anakin's descent to the Dark Side is already hinted at), but I wouldn't show this to anyone as a first viewing anyway. Just a fun alternate way for me to experience the story.

You still lose one of the most epic surprises in film history and all for swapping terrible scenes.

What scenes? Are you referring to what I said about the Leia reveal? That was just one example. There were lots of things l enjoyed about the way things play out in the order I tried.

Besides, I just said that I wouldn't show it like that to any first time viewer. It was just for fun. So there are no surprises anyway.

JJ Abrams and the writing crew have the chance to fix many of the plot holes and continuity errors starting with their Episode. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.

Well it can't get much worse. But all these ill's can be glossed over with a proper release of the UOT.

Padme's premature death in EpIII is not rectified by the UOT or Special Editions. It's rectified by not killing her off in epIII!

Tho Stvn1974 is right, they could reveal in Ep VII that she faked her death, although I'm not sure they'd really have a reason to even mention it.

I guess my point was.....who cares as long as the UOT is released on Blu Ray. They can do whatever they want.

There really is no way to fix the saga at this point as it is a hot mess. I guess if you just forget 1,2,& 3 pretend they never happened.

It would be great if Disney did let Lucasfilm release the UOT and then make the new films where they can fit both the 6 film Lucas version of the Saga or they can just follow the original versions and make a new 6 film saga. Every one would win, mainly Disney.

Quite happy with my 6-film BD set, and will be looking forward to adding a 7th film to that collection in a couple years.
