No problem, again sorry for the extra poor quality, usually my phone pics are fairly passable.

I only watched Part1, but I really want to watch them straight through! It's just getting the time to do that!

I can't be certain if the fold over page and slipcover are first pressings, or not. I know I just received an email from AmazonJP with all 7 BDs up for sale. Some of the picture showed just the case, so that leads me to believe that it might have been a limited thing.
Watch now that I've dropped a couple hundred dollars on the individual BDs, the complete set will come out.

The Redline limited-edition release is a Japanese exclusive and has subs.

The Kara no Kyoukai films have English subtitles and have been released as a "normal" edition set over there. They are subtitled. But it's a set of seven films and they aren't cheap.

Well Rick, you are a very brave man spending all that money on something without watching it first haha. I can just barely justify spending $300 on something I watched and loved!

Does anyone think a US release of Yamato 2199 is likely?

Nice. Noir is one of my favorite series and the dub isn't bad, but there's no way I'm going to pay import prices for it, especially since it probably won't have subs on it.

I've always loved Star Blazers, so I'm very familiar with the basic story/concept. Heck I remember rushing home from school to watch Star Blazers & Speed Racer.
Once I saw Part 1 of 2199, I was hooked. Yeah it's pricey, but so is pretty much anything from Japan(like I need to tell you

). I'm happy with it.
Hey if the US gets this, I'll definitely look into that too!

Apparently the Japanese rights holders are asking a large sum for the license, so it doesn't look like it will get a US release any time soon.

The Japanese release looks really nice though, so if you're impatient like me, and can afford it, it's definitely a worthwhile pickup.

I don't get that.

If they're including both audio tracks it's pretty much already a dual market release, and the subtitles take up so little disc room it's no matter. I also wasn't aware the Noir dub was so noteworthy. Maybe I'll pop one of my DVDs in later and rewatch a couple episodes in dub.

I am excited for a release with proper progressive frames, though.

Edit: wait. will they be progressive frames, or blended in some way?
